Membership Criteria

Pre-clinical child cancer researchers, clinical child cancer researchers, and current or future translational research leaders are all eligible to join KCA.
Pre-clinical researchers eligible for membership include:

  • program heads
  • senior clinicians
  • senior laboratory heads
  • group leaders
  • project leaders.


Those recognised as future translational research leaders will typically satisfy one or more of these criteria:

  • project leaders responsible for supervising two or more researchers/students
  • project leaders attracting a minimum of $100k in peer reviewed grants
  • researchers who attract their own salary
  • researchers who apply for peer reviewed grants
  • proactive translational cancer researchers aiming for future leadership positions
  • fellows who significantly contribute to research capacity.


Clinical researchers wishing to become members need to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • demonstration of translating evidence into practice and implementing widely
  • demonstration of playing a clear role in advancing clinical outcomes through research
  • evidence of input into clinical practice guidelines
  • defined involvement in clinical trials (delivery, standards, conduct)
  • improving clinical practice by evidence-based research.
