KCA is conducting a broad range of child cancer research projects. In particular, we are focused on developing:
more potent, less toxic anticancer therapies (including cell therapy, gene therapy, and molecular profile-directed therapy)
improved diagnostics for predicting prognosis and monitoring therapeutic response
better models of care for the thousands of young adult survivors of child cancer, as well as the many under-resourced adolescents and young adults with newly diagnosed cancer.
Other areas of focus include better training in supportive care for rural clinicians, training the next generation of translational scientists and clinicians, and providing integrated biobanking, bioinformatics and biostatistical support for our members.
These five key performance indicators (KPIs) reflect our research objectives:
Development and initiation of early phase clinical trials
